The Emerging Burger Byway of the RiverSouth District

January 31, 2018

Forget year of the dog, 2018 is shaping up to be the year of the burger in the RiverSouth district. Three new burger-centric spots are opening this year on High Street. There may be some delayed gratification, but we promise they’ll be worth the wait.

Check back in for updates and photos as these eateries come online.

The Goat
Address:
219 S. High Street (map)
At the corner of Rich and High on the first floor of the LC Annex II

When The Goat comes on the scene, it will be a game changer for Downtown Columbus dinning. While the Goat grills up some mean double-grind burgers, their menu extends beyond standard sports bar to eclectic eatery. With salads, sandwiches, wraps and pizzas – all given an artisan twist – downtown workers and residents alike will rejoice at this new option to sit down for a quality bite to eat. And if you’re lucky there will be live music to boot.

Officially opening Thursday, February 1, you can find more details on all the happenings  here.

Burgerim
Address:
121 S. High Street (map)
Between State and Town Streets, just north of Cup O Joe and across from Condado

The next stop on the downtown burger trail will have you rethinking burgers as you know them. At Burgerim, the theory is, if one is good, more must be better, manifested in a design-your-own sliders menu where a Trio Box is not atypical. You’ll appreciate the smaller sizes as you explore all the possible combinations. And there are A LOT of possible combinations. You can stick to classic or pick from their 11 proteins, with options like Wagyu Beef, Falafel, Lamb, Turkey, Veggie, Salmon and more. The Tel-Aviv burger concept will make its way to the Lazarus Building this spring, marking the first Ohio location for the international franchise.
